Today marks the longest day of 2017 ... and quite possibly the hottest ... but also the start of our summer break as a band. We've spent the last two months out on the road and our set at the fantastic Beverley Folk Festival on Saturday brought to an end the last few months of traipsing up and down the UK motorway network. We'd like to extend a massive thank you to all of the organisers, venue managers, sound engineers, bar staff and volunteers who have helped to put on our gigs over the last few months, we've had a lovely time. For the next few months, we're giving the gigs a break while we write some new material, have a big lie down ... and decorate a house (not necessarily in that order). We'll be back later this year with a winter tour, plus a couple more festivals to round off the summer.
Our next gig is at the Didmarton Bluegrass Festival in early September and our final festival of the year will be in Portugal (yes, sunny Portugal) as part of the Costa del Folk Festival. Both are great festivals, but it's fair to say we're looking forward to spending a few days gigging and staying at a 5* resort in Portugal... you should come too!
To round off this update, I'll leave you with a new video we have just released in conjunction with the fine folks at the Big Comfy Bookshop in Coventry. They ask you to record one original, and one cover in a mornings recording session. For our cover, we chose to do 'Big River' by one of our favourite artists; Johnny Cash:
Have a lovely summer everyone! We'll see you in September at Didmarton
